Psychology of survival

Psychology of survival is how a person mentally reacts to the stressors and physical suffering of the given situation. You can train, practice and study, but a person may never know how psychologically ready they may be until disaster strikes. I’m not only talking about surviving in nature, but in everyday life. A person may choose to carry a firearm but its more than knowing how to shoot. It’s about where your mind is at when bad things happen. These stressors can even take a well-trained and well-educated soldier and turn them into a “paper man”. You will be ultimately ineffective and a liability without being conditioned to the nature of the situation. If a person wants to be an asset, rather than a liability they will need to have the mental agility to make split second decisions while also willing to deal with the consequences. Train your mind to prosses material faster by continuing to change your routine and condition yourself for constant change of weather, supplies, environment, threat, etc. It’s great to know how to start a fire but can you do it during heavy rain? It’s fantastic to know how to build a shelter but can you do it with a fractured arm? You’ll never know how you will end up in an adverse situation until it happens. Keep training but make it a challenge. Life is full of challenges and mother nature knows not of equality but of how to wean out the weak minded from the strong minded.
